How Much Does Carpet Cost

“I Would Like To Have An Idea What New Carpeting Will Cost Me.”

There are so many factors that go into figuring out how much it’s going to cost to carpet your Family Room, Master Bed, Great Room, Bedrooms, Closets, etc.

  • How Much Does The Carpet Cost?
  • How Much Carpet Do I Need?
  • How Much is Pad, and What Pad is Best For My Situation?
  • What About Tear Out and Disposal?
  • Does Furniture Move Cost Extra?

But You Would Like Just A Rough Idea So You Can Budget Or Plan Right?

A Simple Explanation of Measuring

Unfortunately, you can’t just measure the width and length of the room to figure out how much carpet you will need. Since Carpet comes 12’ wide you have to factor a few things. For instance, if your room is 10’ x 10’ you will still need a piece of carpet 10’ 8” x 12’

Note: We Add 4” All Around The Room For Stretching

If Your room is 15’ x 14’ we need to figure out seams, and you don’t want too many seams. It’s not unusual for different companies to come up with different measurements. Our main concern at Carpets of Arizona is to make sure you get enough carpet so we can do the installation properly, which helps us maintain our Lifetime Guarantee on Installation.

Let’s Talk About A Few Different Scenarios.

Prices in these examples are based on a 3-bedroom house with a Family Room and 3 Bedrooms with closets. It took 630 Square Feet of Carpet

  1. You Are Moving – If you are moving then you are looking for carpet that looks great but doesn’t cost a lot. You are going to stay in the $3.00 to $4.00 per foot range. $1,890 - $2,520. Ask Us About Our Exclusive Home Seller’s Dream Program Where You Pay Nothing Until Your House Is Sold
  2. You Have a Rental House – OK I get it. You want to do something as cheap as possible. Typically, people go for the $3.00 per foot carpet but you should consider either a $5.00 per foot carpet or we can show you Renter’s Planks, so you never have to replace carpet again. $1,890 - $3,150
  3. Note: At Carpets Of Arizona We Don’t Carry Carpet For Under $3.00 Per Foot. We Stand Behind Everything We Do And Sell And We Don’t Sell Any Cheap Builder Grade Carpet.
  4. You Have an Active House With Kids and Pets – There are decent carpets in the $5 per foot range but you want to be in the $6.25 - $9.00 Per Foot Range. Typically, the amount you need is much more than 630 sq. ft. but just to stay consistent the quote for you would be $3,937 - $5,670
  5. You Plan on Living In This House The Rest of Your Life – You can get 20 plus years out of your carpet if you choose the right one. You’re still pretty much into that $6.25 - $9.00 Per Foot Range
  6. Here Are a Few Other Considerations
    1. Berber or Pattern Carpet – You need to add 10% so the installer can match up the pattern.
    2. Super Thick or Soft Carpet Usually Runs $7.00 to $12.00 per Foot
    3. Stairs cost a little more to cover because of all the additional cutting and labor.

I hope this helps give you an idea of price. We would like to give you an accurate price based on the materials you want and the amount of carpet you need.
